Family Night IN at The Wyndham Edmonton Hotel & Conference Centre

2025 has been COLD. This past weekend it was -25 degrees celsius for the high (!) so we thought : ok it’s time to at least pretend we’re somewhere warm and beautiful.

So we packed up the jeep and tonight we’re at The Wyndham Edmonton Hotel & Conference Centre. It’s just been completely renovated and is located on the south side of Edmonton. This hotel is REALLY neat in that it has an atrium with a restaurant right inside. It is HUGE and the kids loved it! Everywhere you look; it’s gorgeous.

The Wyndham Edmonton Hotel & Conference Centre is also a part of the Edmonton’s Best Hotels  group! When you book a hotel through Edmonton’s Best Hotels ; you get extra incentives like gas cards, gift certificates to restaurants or prepaid mastercards, even tickets to exciting events! No catch - you just gotta book through the Edmonton’s Best Hotels website. Why not get EXTRAS for a booking you were already going to make? It’s EASY with Edmonton’s Best Hotels!

WHERE WE STAYED

The Wyndham Edmonton Hotel and Conference Centre has 235 spacious, non-smoking guest rooms and suites. All have been completely renovated from top to bottom. They are located on the Southside just minutes from Whyte Ave and a short drive from the airport and downtown Edmonton.

They just underwent a giant renovation of the entire hotel in 2024 and it is incredible. Beautiful lighting, new furniture and lux finishes.

Fitness enthusiasts will love their gym, indoor running track (YES- a track!), and squash courts while those in need of some downtime will appreciate a heated indoor pool, hot tub and sauna.

You can also grab a relaxing cocktail at The Wyndham Lounge . They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner right in the heart of the Atrium (more on this later!).

High speed WiFi is also included with your stay. If you’re staying for business or looking for a wedding venue; their 14 state-of-the-art event venues can accommodate up to 2,432 conference guests and 1,973 banquet guests, making them a premier destination for meetings, weddings, and celebrations. This place is HUGE.

Check in time is 3pm and Check out time is 12pm.

ROOMS

Of the 235 rooms available; you can choose from a single King or Queen room, a Double Queen room, a Queen suite or a King suite with a jetted tub! We stayed in two connecting rooms which was so nice to have all that space with the 3 kids! On one side we had a Queen suite and right next to it a King room.

The Queen suite was so spacious. A living room with a giant table and a separate sleeping area. The bed linens were so soft and the beds themselves were really comfy as the kids fell asleep fast (a miracle really haha).

Many of the rooms look right out into the Atrium which is really cool. Our room had a big patio which would be so nice to have in the summer.

I REALLY liked that all the lamps that USB chargers on them.

All rooms have a microwave, mini-refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, flat-screen HDTVs, ample workspace, and plush bedding. If you want a connecting room like we had and extra rollaway beds; both are available upon request. LOVE those connecting rooms for bigger families.

THE ATRIUM

One of the coolest things about this hotel is the Atrium! The restaurant is right inside and it is so LUSH! The kids really like walking around in here. It is MASSIVE and it was the absolute perfect getaway for the snowstorm outside. I could not get over the whole “vibe” of this hotel. Really cool lights and everywhere you looked- another neat photo spot. They even have a UK telephone booth!

THE POOL! (& FITNESS CENTRE)

The Wyndham Edmonton Hotel & Conference Centre offers quite a bit when it comes to amenities. That includes a gym, indoor running track, and squash courts. When I say it is huge; that’s an understatement.

On the aquatic side, there is an indoor heated pool, a hot tub and a sauna.

During this cold spell; this heated pool and whirlpool were SO NICE. It was really nice to have these during our stay.

I was on my own with the kids so I didn’t really have a chance to workout haha however the fitness centre did look well appointed and spacious. I still can’t get over that they have multiple squash and racquetball courts PLUS a running track.

WHERE WE ATE

Right in the Atrium of the hotel is their restaurant called “The Wyndham Lounge”. They offer breakfast each morning as well as dinner and cocktails at night. Luckily; it is family friendly.

Our server Christina was really special. She took such time with the kids, offering them colouring and asking us about our stay. She told us the story of her parents and how they were actually married AT this hotel in the early 90s. Her mom has since passed away, but she talked about how much she loves to work at the hotel and visit the ballroom where her parents got married. Cue the instant tears. It was a really sweet moment.

The The Wyndham Edmonton Hotel & Conference Centre also has a brand new sushi restaurant opening VERY soon. I cannot wait to come back and try it out.

If you forgot something or want a little snack or treat; they have a mini store right in the lobby as well!
